Sexual and Reproductive Health

Welcome to the technical area on sexual and reproductive health (SRH) within MEASURE Evaluation’s Family Planning/Reproductive Health Indicators Database.

Sexual and reproductive health pertains to the state of physical, mental, and social well-being in all matters related to the reproductive system. Good SRH implies that people can have a satisfying and safe sex life, the capability to reproduce, and the freedom to decide if, when, and how often to do so (see the United Nations Fund for Population [UNFPA]). Investments in SRH are critical to securing healthy livelihoods and counteracting the role of harmful gendered social norms. The practice of monitoring and evaluating SRH is ever-evolving, with the emergence of new technical areas, such as male engagement in reproductive health, and improvements in the measurement of long-established priority areas.

The SRH indicators in this database are stratified by gender.
